Meet The Team
Stevie
Stevie, along with her husband, is the Co-Owner of Jewel of the West. Although her background & degree are in Radiology, she has been working in the Fashion Industry for over 18 years. Stevie is the managing partner & buyer for the store. She is beyond grateful for the amazing team she has to work with at Jewel of the West. They are so precious to her & therefore she nick-named them “The Jewels”. In her free time, she loves riding her horse & her Harley, as well as hanging out with her friends, family, fur babies & corrupting her grandkids. Her style is sometimes boho & sometimes western. She loves to shop & doesn’t follow trends because she feels people should wear what makes them feel good & fits their own personal style. Stevie loves shopping for unique pieces, is seriously addicted to turquoise jewelry, & loves Mexican food & a good margarita!
Tim
Tim is the Co-Owner of Jewel of the West. He serves in the role of “Whatever It Takes” . . . helping the team by running errands, hanging artwork, doing repairs, & bringing the staff cocktails! He is enjoying retirement after over 4 decades as a Licensed Architect. In his free time, he loves to ride his Harley & play golf. His style is anything that is the color black. While he would never share it with anyone, he was quite an athlete back in the day . . . being a starter all of his high school years on a State Final 4 team where he grew up in Missouri & playing D-1 college football after graduation. Although he thinks horses are a “Bankruptcy Starter Kit”, he has grown to love his wife’s horse, dogs, cats, & God knows what other animals she might bring home.
Anissa
Anissa spends her days doing Telehealth Behavioral Analysis & her nights helping Jewel of the West look good as a Marketing Assistant. She has been with us since 2021 & was instantly hooked on the clothes, jewelry, & the tight-knit community amongst the employees. Her work-from-home style is pure western casual (graphic tees with silver jewelry on top) & absolutely zero pretense on the bottom (jammies, sweats, or whatever is clean)! She loves her life in the Black Hills with her husband, 3 dogs, & her horse. When she’s not working, you will find her shopping, reading, cooking, or tearing apart a house & putting it back together again.
Anna
Anna has called Wyoming home for many years & brings her warm personality & strong work ethic to her part-time role at Jewel of the West. She serves on the Leadership Team & helps Stevie with many administrative duties as well. She is a devoted wife to TJ & proud mom of 4 children. Anna is also a full-time hairdresser who loves helping people look & feel their best. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family & traveling whenever she can. She is passionate, dependable, & always ready to lend a helping hand with a smile.
Carmen
Carmen is a mother of 2 fabulous girls & an Air Force wife. She loves to travel, being outdoors, & trying new things. She is a total foodie & a self-proclaimed hippie at heart with a boho style. She has had many titles in her life, including Dental Assistant, Realtor, & Small Business Owner. Carmen is so excited to be joining our team!
Cindy
Cindy has been fortunate enough to spend much of her life outdoors surrounded by horses, dogs, & the wide open western landscape. Pack trips in the mountains of Wyoming & years of ranch living have influenced her sense of style, blending ruggedness with a free spirit boho vibe. After retiring from teaching, a decision to move back to South Dakota connected her to Jewel of the West. She is inspired by spending time with her daughter & loyal Blue Heeler sidekick Boone, who is always along for the ride. Her style is a reflection of the life she loves . . . grounded in the West, wildlife, & a bit of wander.
Julie
Julie grew up on a ranch in SW Kansas & moved to the Black Hills in 1997 when she married her husband, Chris. In 2000, they were blessed with their daughter, Annie. Along the way, Julie became an expert in all things involved with competitive swimming, ballet/tap, Tae Kwon Do, violin, & became a Certified Personal Trainer. As Annie grew up & started adulting, Julie decided to find a fun job, where she found Jewel of the West. She has enjoyed becoming a part of a sisterhood of strong, kind, & wonderful women. Her style is definitely western & her flare for fashion and style shine as she styles most of the mannequins in the store.
Kristie
Kristie has shopped at Jewel of the West for years & was excited to join the staff in August of 2021. She serves as a member of the Leadership Team & is an integral part of staff sales training & assists Stevie with virtual events & pop-up boutiques. Kristie helped grow the virtual & travel aspects of the business. Kristie loves wearing & styling western & boho looks, not to mention the jewelry & accessories. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family & enjoys time outside with her horses & dogs. She is also active with the Hill City Arts Council & Chamber of Commerce.
Laura
Laura is a retired elementary school teacher who has been married for 44 years & is the proud mother of 2 daughters & grandmother to 5 grandchildren. A resident of the Black Hills for more than 50 years, she has a deep appreciation for the area & the life it has provided her family. Her personal style leans boho/classic, blending ease & timelessness. She enjoys camping, reading, hiking, shopping, & most of all, spending time with her loved ones. And if you really want to know her, she enjoys a great foot massage, comfy sneakers, & a great glass of red wine.
Stacey
Stacey & her husband live on a ranch near Newcastle, WY, where they raised their 2 children. Agriculture, rodeo, & rural life are instrumental to who they are. Retirement came after teaching elementary & middle school students for 37 years. Now she loves traveling to hang out with family, crafting, baking, gardening, & being one of “The Jewels” at Jewel of the West. She serves on the Leadership Team & helps Stevie with many administrative duties as well. Stacey’s style is pure western – total cowgirl.
Tracy
Tracy has been a Nebraska cattle rancher for over 4 decades & is retired from her banking career. After turning over the management of the ranch to her son, Ryan, she retired to the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Tracy has been employed at Jewel of the West since 2016 & has been with Stevie since the 1st day of Stevie & Tim’s ownership of the store. She enjoys working part-time so her & her husband, Gary, can spend time at the ranch & enjoy time with their families & 7 grandchildren. They love riding through the area on their motorcycle or Slingshot, camping, & traveling. She is often quoted on saying how much she is enjoying this time in life in the beautiful area, & working with the wonderful “Jewels” who own & work at Jewel of the West.
